Pastel Rainbow Color Palette - A Spectrum of Gentle Tints

With soft, muted hues, the Pastel Rainbow palette is lovely for both classic springtime looks and playful, kawaii-inspired designs. Unlike a traditional rainbow[link] with its bold, primary shades, this colorway is delicate and very gentle on the eyes.

  • main colors: pink, pastel yellow, seafoam, light blue, lavender and lilac
  • add dark or light grey to create “Pastel Rain”
  • extras: silver, white, champagne, rose gold

Because these colors are all pastels, they blend well together, and create an almost iridescent look when mixed “confetti” style. However, I mostly use them in an ombre… because you know I love me a good gradient! An interesting variation is “Pastel Rain” which adds a light to medium grey to the palette. The grey further mutes the pastels, creating a slightly misty and ethereal vibe.

Like most handcrafted pieces, the colors in this palette can have subtle—and sometimes, not so subtle!—variations, especially some of the more elusive hues (lilac and lavender, I’m lookin at you!). Occasionally the differences are too great to create a perfect ombre, but usually the colors still blend well, resulting in unique pieces of wearable art.

The key difference is the inclusion of pastel yellow, which is absent from Cosmic Unicorn. This soft yellow is a crucial element here—it acts as a perfect transitional shade, bridging the warmth of pink with the coolness of seafoam. In color psychology, yellow is often associated with happiness and optimism, and it adds a cheerful warmth to the Pastel Rainbow colorway.

The good news is that because these two palettes are so similar, many of the jewelry pieces made with the Cosmic Unicorn palette can be effortlessly paired with Pastel Rainbow items!
