Giving back has always been important to me. Through both Rebeca Mojica Jewelry and my educational/supplies business Blue Buddha Boutique, I'm able to extend that support to organizations championing LGBTQIA+ rights, social and environmental justice, animal rights, and the arts. These are causes that resonate deeply with my personal values of compassion, connection, justice, kindness, and learning. I'm committed to supporting both local groups here in Southern California, as well as national and international organizations that align with these values.

Currently, as a sole proprietorship, all donations and sponsorships are made personally. I'm growing the business enough to incorporate again, and once that happens, donations will come from the business as well as from me! I'm excited to increase my philanthropic contributions as my company grows.

Organizations and groups Rebeca Mojica supports:

Here are some of the incredible organizations and groups I've supported in 2025:

All the Genders Photo Project: The All the Genders Photo Project is dedicated to celebrating the diversity of gender identity through powerful and affirming photography. They create a safe and inclusive space for individuals to express their authentic selves, fostering understanding and acceptance within the community and beyond. Engage with the stories on the Queer Ventures Blog or @all.the.genders.photo.project on Instagram.

Equality California: Equality California is the nation's largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, working at the local, state, and national levels to achieve full equality for LGBTQ+ people. They strive to create a healthy, just, and fully equal world by advocating for civil rights and social justice through legislative action, electoral engagement, and community mobilization. Their efforts encompass a broad range of issues, from electing pro-equality leaders and passing pro-equality legislation to fighting for LGBTQ+ rights in the courts and addressing disparities in health and well-being.

Imagine Water Works: A portion of Mardi Gras jewelry sales are donated to Imagine Water Works, a trans and queer-led organization in Louisiana that addresses climate change, environmental justice, and disaster preparedness through art, science, and community engagement. They empower communities, particularly those most vulnerable, to adapt to a changing environment.

It Gets Better Project: I believe in supporting LGBTQIA+ youth and creating a world where all young people feel safe and loved exactly as they are. My donation to the It Gets Better Project helps them continue their important work of uplifting, empowering, and connecting LGBTQIA+ youth around the globe. This is the organization I wish existed when I was in high school!

Kizh Nation: As a resident of West Hollywood, CA, my home and business are located on the ancestral, stolen homelands of the Gabrieleño Kizh peoples. Every year, Rebeca Mojica Jewelry and Blue Buddha Boutique pay a small percentage of our gross sales to the city of West Hollywood as a business tax. Beginning in 2024, I began allocating an equal amount to be paid annually to the Kizh Nation. This donation represents a small step toward reparations and acknowledges the Kizh people's history and ongoing presence in the Los Angeles area.

Trans Justice Funding Project: The Trans Justice Funding Project is a community-led funding initiative that supports grassroots, trans justice groups run by and for trans people in the United States. Since their inception, they've distributed $10.2 million dollars in grants to organizations that are working to dismantle oppression and create a more just and equitable world for trans, gender non-conforming and non-binary people.

2024 special donation:

Support for Dan: I was saddened to learn of the health challenges faced by Dan, a long-time employee and friend. In addition to making a personal donation to his GoFundMe campaign, I am also donating the proceeds from sales of the Interwoven 4-in-1 tutorial.

Looking Ahead

In addition to increasing support to the above groups, I'm excited to add new recipients in future years. I look forward to new opportunities to give back and make a difference in the lives of others! If there's an organization you think would be a good fit, feel free to send me their links. Due to the number of submissions, not all will receive a response, but know that I appreciate each and every one!
