Peacock Color Palette - Bright, Fun & Bold

Bold shades of greens, blues and purples create an electrifying color combination in the Peacock palette. This vibrant and versatile blend is joyful and bright, perfect for dramatic statement pieces. It also adds a vibrant touch to intricate and delicate designs, and make small earrings "pop". This palette was inspired by—you guessed it!—the iridescent hues of peacock feathers.

Ideally the Peacock palette includes 6 colors: chartreuse, aqua, green, blue, purple and violet. Whenever possible, I like to add additional colors (such as teal, lime green and turquoise) to give the piece even more depth.

Actual peacock feathers often include shades of gold and hints of orange, but I avoid those and keep my palette on the “cool colors” end of the spectrum. I find the cool tones create a harmonious look that complements a wide range of outfits. However, it is bright chartreuse and vivid violet that cause the colorway to really pop; these contrasting colors transcend the relaxing energy of cool blues and greens. In other words, chartreuse and violet bring the party!

  • 3-color version: chartreuse, aqua and violet - For designs that require the simplicity of 3 colors, I use the brightest in the palette. This trio creates an eye-catching and balanced look
  • 4-color version: chartreuse, aqua, purple and violet
  • 5-color version: chartreuse, aqua, green, purple and violet
  • extra colors include lime, teal, turquoise, azure, reddish purple - I also like to add any bright shades of green and blue I have on hand, such as peacock blue and various shades of teal. While I usually avoid pastels, muted colors (such as olive), and very dark colors (such as dark blue and forest green), I will occasionally add a dash of these if the piece is a true multi-mix, like the statement necklace shown in the graphic above.

Shown in the collage, starting from upper left and moving clockwise: Ruffles Cuff, Knotted Metal Diamond Pendant, Double-Strand Cascading Leaves necklace, Tapered Knot Pendant, Comet Earrings and Hepatica Bracelet.
